Mission Statement

 Join us for a day of community and historical preservation at our Quarterly Cemetery Clean Up!! It’s a day for our

 General Community Cleaning at our Historic Crystal Memorial Gardens Cemetery and we would love your help.

We would love to have you join us as we work to preserve Citrus County and Florida's history.   We are seeking forty (40) volunteers for this event.  

Please bring your own tools: Eye/Ear Protection, Work Gloves, Shovels, Rakes, Weed Eaters, Hand Tools, Pruners, & Blowers. 

Please bring sunscreen & wear closed toed shoes.

We provide:  Bottled Water & Lunch

As we prepare for our 3rd Annual Citrus County Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership Gala, we center ourselves once again on the powerful themes of Leadership, Legacy, and Love.

 
We honor some of the greatest bakers in Citrus County, who have passed through time and whose hands and hearts nourished families, communities, and traditions:  Oather Belcher, Louise Brooks, Mary Gray Bunch, Willie Mae Edwards, Theola Bunch McCray, Osie Mizzell, Earnestine Scriven Schlueter, Freddie Lee Simmons, Rena Mae Washington, and Elijah Wilson. 

 These remarkable men and women not only baked with love — they led with it.  Their legacy reminds us that leadership often begins at home, and that love can be passed down one recipe at a time.

Join us for a vibrant Painting Workshop Extravaganza, where children and families are invited to explore the joy of bringing their imagination to life on canvas. Through arts, culture, and creativity, we honor Dr. King’s enduring legacy—a legacy of love, learning, and leadership.
